Beth Westra is a collage artist who uses decorative papers from around the world to create fanciful still lifes and landscapes. Colorful flowers, beach umbrellas, sailboats, coastal islands, and lighthouses are common elements
seen in her work--reflections of summer on the Maine Coast. Her creations are inspired by her passion for color and design."I love to watch the composition unfold before me as I work with color and shape to create an image pleasing to look at," says Westra. "I am forever amazed that I begin with a blank sheet of white paper and after hours of cutting, moving shapes around, and deciding which colors look best, I can look at what I've created and feel quite satisifed."
